How to make a school girl skirt

Pleated tennis skirt or as it is better known, school girl skirt. I tried my best to make one and I can tell you one thing it takes time. Sewing part is fast, but making pleats takes some time.  All in all 2 hours project. Let's dive in. For this project you are going to need:  fabric of your choice measuring tape pen and paper sewing pins tailors cha lk First, we need to take some measurements.  You are going to need waist and hip  measurements. With that you need the  length  of the skirt that you want. My advice is to start with a bit longer skirt. It's always easier to cut off the excess than it is to add more on.  Let's do some math. I promise it's not going to be that hard. 1. Take your waist measurements and divide it by the  number of pleats that you want to have.         In my case I put in 16 pleats.  This is going to give you individual pleat width .  2. Sewing machine presser foot

Not so long ago I had to change my sewing machine. ( Nothing big happend, just a little bit of maintenance.) At home I own two more machines and one of tham is a small Privileg machine. After a while of use I've noticed that this machine had a different presser foot. This presser foot had a small lever on its back. So I did what every normal person would. I pulled it.  For all of you who didn't know (and I was one of you) this is used to change the bottom part. Yes, it can be changed. And that is not all, it can be changed into a special presser foot. Designed for only one job.  Several months ago my mom got me a set of those presser foot attachments. I had no idea how to use tham, but I had tham.  Today was the day I finally figured it out. And I got to use tham. My mind was blown.  I was helping local seamstress. And one of the things I had to do was roll the hem.
