How to make an apron

Quick and easy one day sewing project + pattern

For this project you will need:

- pattern

- material, preferably cotton

- tailor's chalk and tape measure

- sewing pins

- sewing machine

- iron

Pattern:

All measurements are in centimeters.

Parts:

1x lower part of the apron
1x breastplate
2x pocket
2x patch for breastplat
4x patch for pocket
1x waistband (150x4 cm)
2x straps (100x8 cm)

Add 1 - 1.5 cm of seam allowance.

How to make.

You'll need 250 cm/80 cm of cotton ( in my case blue) and one piece of decorative cotton fabric for patches. Sew the tailored patches to the breastplate and pockets (wrong side to the wrong side) and turn to the right side. Iron the rest of their rolled-up seam allowances and sew on the face with a machine.
The large patched pockets on the aprons have primarily a practical purpose. The fabric patches are just a decoration.

Cut the lower part of the apron with 1 cm allowance for the seam at the waist and 2 cm each on the sides and on the hem. The seam allowances on the pockets and breastplate are 1 cm.

Waistband:
2 strips 4 cm wide and 150 cm long with 1 cm seam allowance on all sides.

Straps:
2 strips 8 cm wide and 100 cm long with 1 cm seam allowance on all sides.

Sewing:
If not otherwise, fold and hem the hem. Fold the folds in
waist and sew them on. Fold the shoulder straps in half lengthwise and iron the crease, fold the seam allowances inward and, when beading, catch in the same seam as the bodice. Turn the seam allowances of the waist band inside out and iron, and when sewing, catch the upper seam and the breastplate, and the lower part of the apron in the lower seam. Find your pockets. The straps are crossed and fasten on the back. Holes should be made in accordance with the above, the bottom edge should be 2 x stripes, and the buttons should be sewn on the shoulder straps.

And there you go. Cute apron.
