Easter basket

This was a fun little 30 min beginner project.

List of things that would be needed:

- Nice fabric. I had some leftover cotton fabrics.

- Interlining.

And that is it.

1. Cut interlining in a shape of a circle. I used a plate as a reference, but you can draw it with what you want. We are going to need two circles.

2. Put interlining on your fabric.

You are going to need 4 pieces of fabric. If you are making basket in two colors (like I did), interlining goes on one of the pieces from each color. Size of the rectangles doesn't really matter, it is importante that interlining fits on it. Rest of the fabric will be cut of.

Important note when working with interlining:

This interlining is the one that needs to be irond on. Be cerful with the way you do that. Always put some other fabric over the interlining when you iron so that it doesn't stick to the iron.

3. Now we sew.

We need to sew all around interlining.

Don't forget to leave little opening so that you can turn fabric inside out.
Once you are done with sewing trim the rest of the fabric. Leave around 5 - 10 mm (13/64 - 25/64 inch) seam allowance. (I left a bit little, but it was ok in the end.)

4. Turn fabric inside out and sew along the edges.

5. Let's do some math.

We need to divide one of our circles (one that is going to be on top) in 6 pieces.

First fold circle in half to get half circle, after that fold again in half. Now mark little corner that u got with a dot.
After you have marked a dot unfold fabric to get the half circle again. Now mark folds of that half circle.
Now get a tape and mesure length of half circle arc. Take that measurment and divide it by 3. Measurment that you got mark on the arc two times.

Do the same thing on the other side of the half circle.
Now you have successfully divided circle in 6 equal parts.
Next step is to pul line from every dot on the circle toward dot in the centar. Line needs to be 5 cm (1 31/32 inch) ling, starting from arc dot. (Just like on the first pictur.)

6. Get two circle together and sew along those lines that we just got.
7. Next step is to get the final shape of the basket.
From every dot on the circle that we got mesure 2.5 cm (63/64 inch) along the arc in both directions.

Every one of our lines has two dots now. Next step is to sew dots together. Above the line hand sew two dots. In the end it needs to look like this.

Final basket with some eggs in it.

This was a really fun project to make. It was quick and easy and got to work with interlining on a small scale.
